Geoff deJong has been serving as Hillsborough Baptist’s Lead Pastor since 2015.  His passion is to connect people to God and the church and to help others experience the reality of faith in a complex world.

Geoff has been married to the love of his life Debbie (Weiler) for over 25 years, and together Geoff and Debbie are the proud parents of Brianna Picard (married to Josh) and Benjamin deJong.  He also has two amazing grandchildren, Kenneth and David.  Originally from a small town in Ontario, Geoff graduated from Crandall University and Acadia Divinity College and has over 15 years of ministry experience.  Prior to serving at Hillsborough Baptist, Geoff served as Senior Pastor of the St. Martins and Fairfield Baptist Churches.

Geoff likes hiking, golfing, reading, building computers and travelling to warm places when it gets cold outside.

Jennifer Wilson, Administrative Assistant

Jennifer is the Church Administrative Assistant. She was born and raised right here in Albert County. She has two amazing and wonderful sons, Colby and Kyle. She came to know the Lord in February 2013 and she was baptised at the Cornerstone church in Aurora Ontario. She also became a member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church on March 27th 2016.

Jennifer loves spending time with her boys and caring for her family. She likes taking her boys out to the movies, shopping and going to church on Sundays. Her life verse is Psalm 40:2 “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Maeghen Allen, Worship Coordinator

Maeghan is an island girl, born and raised in Souris, Prince Edward Island. She moved to Moncton, New Brunswick in 2012 to attend Crandall University and began as an intern at Hillsborough Baptist Church. She assisted with youth group, mentoring the youth through their faith journeys. She has always had a passion for children and youth ministry and has come a long way from the timid, shy girl teaching children’s stories at the beginning of her internship.

Maeghan is now graduated from the Bachelor of Science program and has received a Youth Leadership Certificate from Crandall University.

Maeghan has taken part in several missions teams to Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, New York City and the Czech Republic. She is excited about what God is doing in Hillsborough and Albert County.

Maeghan started as a volunteer on the worship team at Hillsborough Baptist and is now the lead worship coordinator. She has always had a strong love for music and some of her best memories are when she and her two younger sisters would gather around the piano in the living room of their childhood home and sing songs together. She definitely never imagined it would lead to singing on a stage…in front of people! She knows God’s plan is always one more adventurous than you will ever imagine on your own, if you let Him lead. Maeghan was excited when the opportunity came to lead worship and counts it a privilege to be a part of bringing others into the presence of God, and ministering to people through music.

Maeghan is creative and loves to use her gifts whenever possible.  She was recently involved with a project making a giant cassette tape out of wood and duct tape, used as a prop for a message series.

She also loves lattes, puppies, the sea and the sunshine.

Jillian Melanson,

Jillian Melanson started with the team in January 2019 as Director of Discipleship. Always one for adventure, she is excited to see where the Lord will take her on this new journey. Originally from Oakland, and later Woodstock New Brunswick, Jillian left her home town to study Business and Religious studies at Atlantic Baptist University in 2008. It did not take long for her to fall in love with Moncton and the surrounding area; so, after graduation in 2012, she chose to stay and find work in the city. The following year, her and Zachary Melanson met and began dating shortly after that. Married in 2015, the two lived in the city but both felt drawn to the Hillsborough area. After a year of prayer and searching, Jillian and Zachary Melanson moved to the are in the fall of 2016 where they quickly found a home at both their house on Academy and Hillsborough Baptist Church. Outside of the church, they both enjoy hiking, camping, and the outdoors but Jillian also likes travelling, eating out, and her pet parrot BooBoo.
