Good day HBC Family and Friends!
Have you ever had one of those days? One where everything you planned to do got interrupted and your list seems just as long at the end of the day as it did at the beginning?
I have them fairly regularly, days when interruptions seem unceasing and the challenges overwhelming. This week God reminded me of the words of Isaiah 40, "Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?"
This verse is talking about how big God really is. We can't measure how much water he can hold in the hollow of one hand, and yet somehow, all too often, we forget how great our God is.
And this is the God who loves us. This is the chapter that ends with those well-known words, "they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
God is enough, lean on him, knowing that no matter how much is on your list, his strength is sufficient, each and every day, to bring you through to the other side.
So give thanks, and give God the glory this week!
See you Sunday!
