Good day HBC!
As I watched the big snowflakes fall from the sky this afternoon I was struck by how quickly the dirt and mud were covered and became a pure and beautiful white cover for the ground... And then I drove through it!
Perhaps our lives are not so different at times. We cover the mess, we put on happy faces, good things happen, and for a moment, we think, life is beautiful! And then we put our tire tracks in it. We go where we want to go. We do what we want to do.
And to our surprise, there is still mud underneath! Only God can truly make us clean. Our efforts and our circumstances seem to change as often as the weather. But God is not done with us yet. He is patient, wanting everyone to come to him. He is working, cleaning up our lives one space, one room at a time when we trust in him. And he has prepared good works in advance for us to do. Because we matter. Because we are loved. Your life has a purpose.
What a great God we serve! Don't forget, when you make a mess, you are not alone, and the God who loves you is waiting to welcome you back and clean you up and help you to move forward!
Please keep the children and youth and parents in prayer this week as they begin their March break, and remind them that there is no youth group or Hillskidz this week. Youth group resumes on March 11!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday!
