Merry Christmas!

It is hard to believe but Christmas is almost upon us and another year is almost complete!  I love this time of year.  A time when we are reminded of God’s miraculous work for us when he sent his son Jesus Christ to live among us and to save us from our sins.  John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…” and then in John 1:14 we hear the incredible news, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  This Christmas I’d like to invite you to think of those two words.  What would your life be like without both grace and truth?  Jesus brought both to a hurting world, and with both grace and truth, we will never be the same!

Christmas Eve falls on Sunday this year so we are doing something different.    We will have two identical Candlelight services at 10:45 am and 4:00 pm and so we invite you to choose the time that works best for you and your loved ones on Christmas Eve.  Start a new tradition this year and come celebrate the birth of Jesus with us as a family!

At Christmas time each year, we look for ways to give back to those in need.  We are asking you to consider two special needs this year.  One for Christmas Eve, and one for New Year’s Eve.

On Christmas eve would you prayerfully consider a special benevolent offering gift for New Life Mission.  This ministry focuses on children from less fortunate families and offers an amazing drop in program in multiple locations in Moncton area.  They had multiple break-ins in the last week and lost all their computers as well as other ministry items that all need to be replaced.  Please mark your envelopes or just put this offering in a separate envelope marked New Life Mission.

On New Year’s Eve please pray about giving a special gift to missions.  There are missionaries around the world that depend on our support.  Please pray and plan how you can be a part of meeting the real needs of sharing the good news here in Albert County and around the world.  Again please mark your envelopes on New Year’s Eve.

Please note: Since Christmas Eve is on a Sunday, please bring your normal offerings to whichever service you choose to attend.

We have had a great year together, and God is blessing us with opportunities to grow and care and meet real needs.  There is more to do, and I’m excited to do God’s work with each one of you as part of God’s family in Albert County!   The times may change, but the good news is still the same, God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to save us, and he invites us to offer that good news to others together as his church.

Once again, Merry Christmas!
