Dear HBC Family
As most of you are becoming aware, this week we have seen mandatory mask use implemented and now as of midnight tonight we are back to the Orange level in our region. Here is a link to the NB news release: https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/news/news_release.2020.10.0517.html
This means that we must immediately suspend all in-person events and gatherings in the building. Until this order is lifted, our church community will meet online only and all content will be available through our website at www.HillsboroughBaptist.org.
Your volunteers and staff have been working hard through this season to ensure we can continue to gather online and grow together as God’s people. Let me encourage you to go to our Home Page and click on the link and join us via zoom, Facebook or YouTube on Sundays, and through the week as well for our other gatherings and connect groups.
I know many of you are disappointed that we will be unable to have our in-person gatherings again. I am too. I love seeing you all, in-person and online, but I recognize that for some this is more difficult than for others. Please be in prayer for God’s will to be done, and a strong commitment by all New Brunswickers to do what we can to love our neighbours in this difficult season.
This Sunday is our thanksgiving gathering. In light of this new challenge, I invite you to remember God’s words in 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Paul writes, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I would like to ask you all to join us on Sunday and come prepared to share something you are thankful for, or a verse about thanksgiving from God’s word. We will take time to share those with one another and to present a thanksgiving offering of praise to God. In this moment, we must continue to trust the one who is faithful, who goes with us in the valley, who guards and guides us through the darkness. You will be able to share verbally if you are on zoom, or through the chat in Zoom, Facebook and YouTube. Let’s give thanks to God together this week, and remind ourselves of HOW MUCH we have to be thankful for!
We will continue to communicate as we move forward in response to the guidelines we are being given. Thank you all for your prayers, love and support through this challenging season. I give thanks to God that I can truly see, now more than ever, each of you, God’s people, BEING the church, not just going to church.
Once again, come join us online on Sunday, the link is www.hillsboroughbaptist.org Let’s pray together for a quick resolution for all New Brunswick! As for my family and I, we are praying for you, that you have the opportunity to enjoy some of God’s good gifts this Thanksgiving weekend.
Come share with us on Sunday, what you are thankful for, and let us remember God’s comfort in these times; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
